Orange Habanero pepper seeds are the most popular variety of Habanero. Similar in taste to the Caribbean Rad Habanero with a bit less heat. Easy to grow prolific plant that will be loaded with bright orange peppers. This variety of Habanero originated in Brazil and made its way to Mexico and the Caribbean. The common name for these pods is Caribbean Orange. Fruit matures from green to bright orange and has a bit of a citrusy flavor. The orange habanero peppers grow to about 2″ long and inch or so in diameter. Pods are fairly thin walled with only moderate number of seeds. Scoville rating for these peppers is about 350,000 SHU. If you’re looking for a similar flavor with a bit more heat then check out our Caribbean Red Habaneros which average 500,000 SHU. You can easily grow these Orange Habanero peppers seeds in a container. Ideally use a pot with a capacity of at least 5 gallons. Many growers use 5-gallon buckets. Plants grow bushy and average about 36″ in height and 24″ wide. The Habanero peppers tend to grow in clusters providing large amounts of pods per branch that ripen in the same time frame. Branches are sturdy and easily support the pods which don’t typically require additional staking or support.
