The Yellow Biquinho pepper seeds produce plants that grow to a height and width of 24″, very container friendly. Each plant will produce around 100 of these rounded but pointy Brazilian peppers. In Brazil and Peru these peppers are very popular and known as “Chupetinho” by the locals. The proper way to pronounce these small yellow peppers is Biquinho (bee-KEE-nyo) which means “little beak” in Portuguese. Other common names you may have heard for the Biquinho yellow peppers are button, or piquillo pepper. The length of the pepper pods averages about one inch. The flavor profile is sweet, tropical, fruity and smokey similar to a Habanero without all that heat. These chilis do have a little heat but are considered mild and rarely exceed 2000 SHU. The chilis start out green and ripen to yellow. Most commonly used pickled and served as appetizers. If you’d like to add some visual interest to your garden or pepper patch, be sure and pick up these Yellow Biquinho pepper seeds.
Other South American varieties of peppers that might be of interest to you include Aji Charapita and Aji Lemon.
