Orion pepper seeds come from a cross created by Rocco Maltesi in Italy. Originally called Fatalli Gourment Jigsaw x Big Red Mama x Yaki Blue Fawn. Probably one of the most beautiful pepper plants we’ve grown. Plants have dark purple branches and veins in the foliage hosting the striking multicolor peppers. The three-way cross resulted in peppers that start out green and ripen from dark purple, to light brown, and finally a molten red. We selected seeds from plants with dark leaves and the most colorful peppers. Orion pepper plants are not only visually appealing but also very productive. Scoville rating of these plants averages around 1.5 million SHU. The flavor is sweet and tangy. Orion peppers are considered super-hots. Grow as an ornamental for their beautiful colors or use them to bring the heat to your favorite salsa, hot sauce, or dry spice rub. These pepper plants grow at least 36″ tall but can successfully be grown in contains (5 gallon or larger) as well as in ground. Pod size averages about 2″ in length.
The filial generation of these peppers is unknown and as such it should be considered an unstable phenotype. The cultivated pods may assume different colors and shapes. However, ours grew true and we expect yours will also. Don’t wait, get these Orion pepper seeds today, they always sell out fast!

Start these Orion pepper seeds indoors at least 8-12 weeks before the last frost. Use high quality seed starting mix and keep moist until they sprout. Keeping the seed trays at least 75F will speed up germination. Once the seedlings appear, be sure and provide a high quality light. South facing windows rarely provide enough light and will cause the seedlings to stretch and get leggy.
