Description

Non-GMO, Open-pollinated, Heirloom. Indeterminate. The plants produced from these Garden Peach tomato seeds are prolific heirlooms with fruit that are slightly flattened and resemble a peach. These tomatoes will have a slightly fuzzy yellow fruit with a pink blush. The flavor of these tomatoes is mild and clean, slightly fruit like flavor. The Garden Peach is an indeterminate vine that produces fruits that are about 2 ounces. Long lasting once picked, some people believe they improve with storage. This heirloom tomato was grown in American gardens all the way back in 1862! An excellent addition to a fresh garden salad or in a salsa mixed with red tomatoes for a nice mix of color and taste. Like most tomatoes the Garden Peach can be cooked, canned, frozen, or dehydrated.

Starting Garden Peach Tomato Seeds

Seeds are typically started about 8 weeks before the last frost. Sow seeds at a depth of about 1/4″ in high quality seed starting mix. Soil temperature should be maintained over 65F, ideally over 70F. Once sprouted you should provide the seedlings with a strong source of light. Do not put them in a windowsill, this will cause leggy stretched seedling. Use fluorescent, or better yet, good quality LED grow lights. Here’s a good instructional guide on how to start tomato seeds indoors. Once the seedlings are transplanted into the garden, they will need support such as a trellis or stakes. The best way to grow indeterminate tomato plants is by keeping only a few main stems and pruning suckers, there are many resources of how to do this on the web so I won’t go into it here.
