Mexican Red Bean Seeds

Mexican Red Bean Seeds deliver a vibrant variety often celebrated in culinary traditions for their full-bodied flavor and hearty texture. Cultivating these seeds leads to the growth of robust plants, each pod cradling beans that are as visually striking as they are palatable.

These seeds are perfect for gardeners aiming to bring a dash of color and a taste of Mexican heritage to their kitchen gardens. When nurtured with care, these plants offer pods that are both a feast for the eyes and a staple in a range of recipes, from stews to salads.

Sowing
Sow Mexican Red Bean Seeds in well-drained soil and a sunny location when the danger of frost has passed. Plant seeds about an inch deep and space them 3 to 4 inches apart, in rows spaced 18 inches apart. Water the seeds gently and maintain even moisture until sprouts emerge.

Mature Height
Mexican Red Bean plants reach a mature height of about 18 to 24 inches, making them a compact addition to your garden that fits well even in limited spaces.

Day to Maturity
These hearty beans take about 90 to 100 days from sowing to maturity. This allows a generous window for the beans to develop their distinct deep red hue and rich flavor.

Bean Size
The beans are medium in size, usually measuring about 4″ in length and housing 4-6 beans per pod. They are known to pack a punch in terms of flavor and culinary versatility.

Bean Color
The pods start out green. Since these beans are used as a dry bean, the pods should be left to dry on the plant. At maturity, crack open the dried pods and enjoy the deep red beans that adds a flavorful touch to any dish they grace.

Summary
Mexican Red Bean Seeds produce flavorful, deep red beans that are a versatile and colorful addition to a variety of dishes.

The plants produced a fair amount of pods but you need a lot of plants to get a substantial amount of dried beans. They’re great for making chili.
